Heating and Cooling Controllers Comparison Table

Heating and Cooling series temperature controllers are designed for controlling temperature. They can be used in many applications with On/off control form.

On-off controllers are the simplest form of temperature control devices. Our On/off devices is either on or off, with no middle state. On-off controllers will switch the output only when the temperature crosses the setpoint. For heating control, the output is on when the temperature is below the setpoint, and off above setpoint. Since the temperature crosses the setpoint to change the output state, the process temperature will be cycling continually near the setpoint. “Hysteresis,” value is added to the controller operations to prevent any damage to contactors and valves in cases where this cycling occurs rapidly. Our On/off controllers may use in many applications where absolute control is not necessary. However in more accurate and sensitive applications our PID controllers should be selected.

Heating and Cooling Controllers are different from On/off Temperature controllers because this series only allows either cooling or heating. The initials next to Product code characterize the features of the device. Such as H for Heating, C for Cooling applications.

In our ESM-xx10 series there are 5 types of controllers. Please refer to comparison table above for selection. Also, from product pages you can access detailed product manuals.
